Japanese Micro RC Flying Machines

Japanese Micro RC Flying Machines

Posted in on November 12, 2010

Once again, the Japanese have managed to go create yet another hobby I would like to try. Submitted for your consideration are micro RC flying machines. Not just any flying machines, but penguins, angels, mushrooms (yep, you read that right), and all varieties of custom aircraft.

These aren't your average RC planes. These tiny machines are built from scratch using extremely lightweight materials like styrofoam, balsa, cardboard, and paper, and are propeller driven, using rubber bands or micro radio control components. Each part is carefully weighed and trimmed down the bare essentials.

Some of these flying machines are literally held together with tape while others are carefully crafted over weeks and months.

Aircraft styles range from standard airplanes, to graceful gliders, multi-wing monsters, witches on brooms, angels, and just about everything in between.

If you can read Japanese, you can see more micro RC aircraft at the Micro air vehicle Institute.
