Vyugovey Ice Festival Sculptures
Posted in on December 27, 2010
Each year in Russia the traditional "Vyugovey" festival of ice sculpture takes place. This year the theme is "Unexplored Worlds". The theme was chosen because of a Presidential Decree proclaiming 2011 "the Year of Space" in memory of the 50th anniversary of man's first journey into space.
The event is held at Memorial Park, Museum of Astronautics, and will host the International Competition "GRAND PRIX OF RUSSIA" for ice sculpture.
The ice festival is attended by professional sculptors from Belarus, Poland, USA, Finland, Ukraine, Uzbekistan and Russia.
